Do latex portland cement grouted tiles need to be sealed
Have nice tile floor about two years old.l believe the tiles are glossed...
The grout is a medium tan in color, sanded latex portland cement grout.Does
it need to be sealed?It gets darker for a few seconds if l get it wet, but
then it dries fine.Any maintenance tips in general?
Yes, the grout (at least) has to be sealed! You should not
notice much of a color change whence the grout gets wet.
''Dries fine'' after a few.grout is 'soaking'.
Apply sealer (as directed). And do this very soon! (that fluid
can get under your tiles and break the bond).
Maybe speak with one that ''knows'' at your local ''big-box-stores
or contact a tile specific store in your area.
Yes they do have to be sealed. Just follow the directions on
the sealer bottle. No further maintenance is needed. This will have to be
repeated from time to time. I am a twenty year plumber
